-- this saturday we had what is becoming an annual Christmas party/gift drive between the Quincy Street kids and BUPTA. it was amazing! we all had a great time ice skating and hanging out, and i was completely overwhelmed by the generosity of my classmates and professors...all of the kids were outfitted with new winter hats, gloves, and scarves; the tutoring room at Quincy Street now has new markers/pencils/crayons, coloring books, paper, and other useful items; and the community as a whole was given plastic sleds, sports equipment, jump ropes, board and card games, bubbles, blocks, and lots more! what i love is that the focus was not on toys or the latest gadgets, but instead was on meeting practical needs and on fostering an enriched environment for the kids in this neighborhood.
--i came home after ice skating to find that steve had completely cleaned the house...this was such a wonderful gift!
--steve and i had a lot of fun hanging out the rest of the day...we are now costco members (and have new tires for the jeep!), we got a pair of red sox tickets for the spring (woohoo!), and we decorated our first Christmas tree! check out steve's blog for pictures :)
here are links to a couple of slideshows from our party (one from nathan, the other from sukhee, my classmate):
