car
today, i was scheduled to shadow a urogynecologist who works closely with my clinic. i gave myself some extra time to get there, because although the office in waltham is not too far from where i work, i wasn't sure about traffic. this ended up being a good thing. i got in the car, turned the ignition, and nothing happened, except for a few clicks. tried it again, same thing. we've had some issues with our car lately, so i wasn't super concerned until a few minutes went by and no change. a [helpful] neighbor offered up the suggestion, "i think somethin's wrong with yah stahta" (translation: our starter is busted). when it got to be the very latest time for me to leave and still get there when i needed to, steve and i started working on alternate ways to get there. i found out that the T would take almost 2 HOURS to get to waltham. and then steve called the mcardles. jen graciously took time out of her morning to give me a ride, and i made it nearly on time! i had a great day shadowing and learned a ton. steve was able to get the car started a couple of hours later and took it in to get looked at...turns out the battery and connections (which is what we had had trouble with before) needed to be replaced. the whole thing was pretty frustrating and costly, but our car works great now...super thankful for steve and jen!
*p.s. this is an old picture...not quite cold enough to wear this yet!
