Day 4

trail run

hurricane earl ended up manifesting itself in a pretty uneventful rain yesterday. today, the sky is clear and the sun is shining. steve and i took advantage of the weather this afternoon and headed up to bradley palmer state park in topsfield, ma, for a trail run. it's beautiful and foresty there, with a couple of open meadows, a river, and general outdoor awesomeness. the only problem is that the trails are organized by scattered numbered markers (no names, colors, etc.) and so it's super easy to get lost. our plan of running a few miles continuously ended up being a ton of short sprints to the next marker, followed by stops to check our position on the map we were carrying, redirection if necessary, and continuation of the run. pretty fun AND funny, actually! and the run/being outside definitely helped my mood, which was not great earlier this morning.

now onto an afternoon of baseball watching at home...i hope you're all enjoying the long weekend!
